I try to avoid being overtly political when it comes to social media, but lately it’s been getting more and more difficult to do so - gee, I wonder why?

Anyway, I had a few bits of a song parody floating through (what passes for) my mind and decided that I should knuckle down and finish the damned thing or it would never vacate the premises - what follows is the result.

FYI, the Guam reference was more timely when I started writing this down.

A Day In The Life

(with apologies to The Beatles)

I read the news today, oh boy
How North Korea might drop bombs on Guam
And though the thought filled me with fear
I wasn’t too surprised
Trump lives to ostracize

Our President is such a joke;
He didn’t know how hard the job would be
His campaign promises were lies
We’d heard them all before
Still, he got elected though he may not make it to Year Four

Inauguration Day, oh boy;
Late January, Twenty Seventeen
The crowd was really rather small
But Trump and his press guys
Bragged about the size

I’d love to turf him out

Woke up, fell out of bed
Checked my Twitter feed with dread
Read another set of childish rants
His tiny hands still managing to type

He says Obamacare is bad,
And lack of tax reform is sad
Wants to get rid of transgender troops
And suddenly I was hit with some major news fatigue

I read the news today, oh boy
Another White House staffer lost their job
And though one loss is rather small
It’s hard to track them all
No one knows how many staffers go through that revolving door

I’d love to turf him out
